Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

Natirru has a solid, stout build meant for heavy lifting. Clothing hides his muscle definition, meaning that opponents often underestimate him.

2. How old is he?

Late thirties to early forties - he was 37 at the start of his class story.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

He carries himself very well, with a professional air. This changes, however, depending on the role he’s taken.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

Don’t be fooled by his size - Natirru is actually very fit. There’s a lot of muscle under that fat and he knows how to use it.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

Despite his bulky frame, he can be quite acrobatic if he needs to be. But most of the time, his movements invoke ideas of solidity and dependability - strong and deliberate, but not necessarily aggressive.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

He’s certainly not ugly, but society tends to frown on finding wider people attractive. The only reason Natirru cares about his looks at all is to fit into whatever role he’s supposed to play or be comfortable in his own skin.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

His skin is a more saturated blue than many Chiss, and is in such excellent shape it can be hard to tell his age - he’s had a couple people mistake him for someone much younger than he is. He does sometimes use this to his advantage.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

His hair is fine and straight, and blue-black like most Chiss’ hair. He wears it short and professionally styled, with a little bit combed back to add a bit of a spike to his silhouette. Professional - but not stuffy.

9. What color are his eyes?

Glowing red, sclera and pupil. They can be difficult to read if you’re not familiar with his species

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

He has quite a few scars on his body, usually hidden by his clothes, as a result of torture he endured in the course of his class story.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

I’ll get back to you on that one.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

He doesn’t dress for expression - rather, he dresses by occasion. He has a long coat with some sturdy boots and gloves to appear as a mercenary or should all his uniforms be in the process of being washed or repaired. He has a white Imperial uniform with as many pockets and pouches as possible, he has a formal tuxedo, something for desert work... The only clothes he’s worn for himself are for comfort rather than style, usually in the form of sleeveless tunics or vest sets. All of these are in neutrals - light gray, white, black, or brown.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

That is the one thing that does unify his outfits - he isn’t uncomfortable in any of them. He knows some things about sewing and mending clothes, and if something he gets doesn’t fit correctly, he alters it so it does.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

I appear to have answered this question already...

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Boxer briefs, Natirru sees no reason to deviate from standard character models

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

On the higher end of baritone, lots of vocal fry. Not sure how he does it without ruining his throat, unless it’s just how he sounds. Might be damage from strain?

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Evenly, and at a decent clip, though he knows when to slow down for effect. Even his hesitation is brief.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

An Imperial accent, not versed enough in accents to name its exact real-world counterpart.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

A whole lot, considering his line of work.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Despite being a Csilla-raised Chiss, he defaults to Basic, though he will switch to Cheuhn if addressed in it. He has also put on a false accent to disguise his Imperial one as the need arose.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

He’s good at following leads in conversation and responding to things naturally. You know, spy.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

Pretty eloquent, unless you manage to deal a heavy enough emotional blow.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Mostly book-smart, with a healthy enough helping of street smarts to be able to fake being a mercenary or prisoner as the need arises, though his cover as such is rarely airtight if tested enough.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

Pretty good at making snap decisions, doesn’t always come to the best conclusion however, than if he has time to sit down and think about it.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

In a nutshell, the always-fun combo of logical and idealistic. He breaks a situation down as he goes, but has a tendency to lean towards the best conclusion if the other party or the environment aren’t being too suspicious - keeping in mind his threshold for suspicion is lower than normal. He’s pretty much always constantly analyzing - if standards for Watchers hadn’t been “genetically augmented” high, he might have been one instead of a Cipher. Despite having a logical analysis as often as possible, his emotions lead his decisions more often than not.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

Whatever the typical education young Chiss have, followed by medical training. He joined the Imperial military as a combat medic and added combat to that, and then a Sith Lord saw how easy he was to talk to and snatched him up into his personal employ to be trained as a spy. This mostly amounted to acting lessons, which would years later be refined - along with his combat training - by Imperial Intelligence into proper espionage skills.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Medicine, analysis, slicing (we know it as “hacking”), cooking actually... As for interests: he has an interest in history and archaeology, droid salvage, programming, and repair (sort of ties into the slicing), as well as gaining an interest in animal care from his fictive son Oberon. He’s even recently taken in a trio of nerf calves in the hopes of pursuing this (also a renewable source of protein isn’t anything to be sneezed at, once those calves mature)

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

Ambivert!

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Natirru is a friendly, open sort on the surface, who can be trusted to keep a cool head and act as mediator should conflict arise. Under the surface, the “open” part isn’t really true, though he’s more than happy to be the one people seek advice or comfort from. Present him with a problem and he will do everything in his power to try to help you fix it.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Calculating, but outwardly amiable. He loves meeting new people and making new friends - just expect some degree of suspicion at first.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

He’s more comfortable adapting to the situation than influencing it. So, react.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Flight - pop that stealth field and hide! ...Or use it to ambush the confused threat. Ensure the possibility of escape first though.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Gallows humor kind of comes with the territory. Bad puns are a guilty pleasure he rarely exercises unless he needs to look less competent for some reason. He’s a Bioware protag so snark is a given. Not a fan of pranks or surprises unless they’re particularly clever.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

Honestly, he probably does. He’s been deeply traumatized on a couple different occasions. But they haven’t been formally diagnosed and his symptoms aren’t clear-cut enough for me to feel comfortable making that call myself. His primary coping mechanism is to double down on making everyone around him happy, seeking a sense of fulfillment for himself.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

The decision to take a normal career path in medicine into the military more or less ultimately informed his decision to follow Jennal Malo’s recommendation to join Imperial Intelligence, which in turn shaped the way he approaches the world. Identifying the signs of abuse in Jennal’s “adopted” son Oberon and making the decision to shelter him, while part of a larger pattern, solidified what was an ever present need to be needed into a philosophy he carried until he couldn’t: that wherever he wanted to be wasn’t as important as where he needed to be.

14. What does he fear?

Losing or failing to provide for his loved ones is the one he’ll name if asked and he is sufficiently motivated to answer (Oricon quests say hi) but there’s one that’s even stronger than that, that of losing his sanity. It was when he was nearly pushed to breaking by the brainwashing set on him in act 2 that he finally decided that he needed out of the Empire, however much he might find himself needed where charitable personalities are so rare. Speaking of brainwashing...that. Any further loss of autonomy or agency is one of his fears too. The Dread Masters must be so excited.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

He wants to see Oberon and all their friends to safety in a society that won’t tear them apart if they show weakness. He also would like his happy married life back. The Alliance looks like it will fulfill both of these, as long as it lasts.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

Until the Alliance gives him a means to get out, he doesn’t want anyone to find out he wants to go back to living as a Republic citizen, after act 2.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

Distant. Natirru was always the odd one out in his family, and when he decided to join the Imperial military instead of remaining in service to the Ascendancy, they quietly dropped out of contact. His father has been dead for nearly fifteen years and he doesn’t even know.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

Three brothers, two younger and one older; and one teenage half-sister he doesn’t know exists. Like his parents, his brothers have dropped out of contact in quiet disappointment, though the oldest will come to find him on Odessen when the Alliance is formed and inform him the youngest is keeping a hopeful eye on his exploits, when they manage to be public ones. While he was with them, he got along well enough with them, and he feels no bitterness for their disappointment. As he would put it, himself, he didn’t fit in anyway.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

He’ll meet his niece (by his older brother) on Odessen and absolutely adore her. Unfortunately the one he can’t stand (though even people he can’t stand, he will readily engage and spend time with) is said brother...

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

I’ve mentioned him before, but - Oberon Malo, a Twi’lek Sith as good as a son to him. Oberon has come to mean everything to him, and he would make every effort to keep him healthy, happy, and safe. In RP scenarios there are a handful more characters from other legacies who are also children or siblings to him. Natirru just adopts people. Outside of my own/player creations, he considered Raina Temple like a daughter for a while. Then she showed romantic interest in him. You could practically hear the mental record screech.

Surprisingly, he is not dissuaded one bit from this habit of finding family.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Honestly, even when I disregard other PCs I can’t disregard one Valentine Noir, the character with the single largest positive influence on the entire legacy. Most of Natirru’s friends wind up being considered family. This one...somehow didn’t end up the same. Natirru considers him his best friend, and one of the few people outside his family he would trust to take care of said family if something should happen to him. They met because Valentine decided to follow Natirru in a mission a Dark Council member had given him, and while they may not have immediately become close, a high-pressure situation like that is the surest way to ensure Natirru cares for another’s well being beyond the norm.

6. Does he have other close friends?

If Valentine hadn’t made such a huge impact, the answer to the above question would have been Vector Hyllus, one of his class companions. He’s easily the person Natirru feels closest to and safest with among his crew. Within the Alliance, he would likely get along well with fellow spy Theron Shan.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

He makes friends very easily - because his desire to care for and protect people and make them happy is very genuine even if the context is fake. It makes him both very good and very bad at being a spy.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

It’s difficult to say, since the two often overlap in terms of the type of affection he shows for them.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

He was married to the smuggler Abric Solari about half a year prior to the game’s start, though that was under a cover identity. He was happy in that life, though, and has been steadily and subtly working to reclaim it. By the end of base class stories, he is engaged again to Abric - for real this time - though they won’t be able to be public about it until the Alliance is formed (they abandon making any secret of their relationship at some point in Shadow of Revan, however). At some point in the Alliance’s lifetime, they will be married again.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

I mean, technically he and Abric are either not involved or engaged rather than married for most of the story, but that doesn’t count.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?

His first crush was a fellow student back on Csilla, but it never really went anywhere and was never stronger than the shallowest attraction and the initial realization that he was attracted to men. His first “serious” crush was on Aquila Carver, an Imperial soldier he met during his time as a military medic. Before he could work up the courage and find an appropriate time and place to tell him how he felt, he learned Carver was already engaged. At least he avoided it being awkward.

As for latest...all roads lead to Abric. This one, he gets to marry. Again. Eventually.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

Physically, he appreciates a well toned chest and a good knowing smirk, though that last one is very much tied to an emotional appreciation for a quick wit. A moral compass that is not at odds with his compassion-driven one is a must, though. A potential partner doesn’t have to be as caring and empathetic as he is, but he does have to not disapprove of it on principle.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

Not biologically or legally, but he doesn’t really consider the idea of them any different from his “found family” child(ren). He absolutely dotes on Oberon, and others in RP plots, and is generally adored in return. He didn’t think he wanted kids, but, really? He was wrong. The role of a father is extremely fulfilling for him.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

Darth Jadus is still out there somewhere, presumably. The Sith Emperor is a thorn in the entire legacy’s side.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

He’s gay, of the completely exclusive 6 variety.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

For Natirru, sex is an expression of affection and trust first and foremost, and while he is capable of separating physical attraction from emotional, he greatly prefers not to, feeling that it simply doesn’t suit him. He doesn’t hold other people to these standards, however. A good thing, since he’s engaged/married (depending on story progress) to someone who primarily views it as something for fun.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Restraint and any form of sensory deprivation are extremely not fun for him. He does love slow sex. As it’s a means of showing his affection, he prefers to make it last. As for weird...he has a thing about ensuring they’re not being secretly recorded before. Intelligence work makes one paranoid.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

This is so not applicable. Different galaxy, so different stars and different calendars! Does Star Wars have its own zodiac(s)?

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

Neither, for himself, but the philosophy of the Sith Code permeates pretty much all of Imperial life at some point, so he does have to be mindful of its practitioners.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

Nothing he really consciously defines as such, but as compared to your typical Imperial or even typical Chiss...yeah. He refuses to kill innocents for any reason, will never refuse to render medical assistance if he has the chance, will never kill a defenseless enemy...except Hunter. Hunter went straight for a couple of psychological triggers there at the end and that managed to provoke Natirru into going for his sidearm’s trigger. Good job making him pick the dark option for once, Hunter.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

Honestly, as long as said belief doesn’t run on causing harm for its own sake, he’s perfectly fine to live and let live.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

I honestly can’t think of anything at the moment but I’ll update this if I manage to catch something I hadn’t.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

He’s fairly comfortable, between taking on independent jobs, doing work for the Empire as called on, and slicing enemy accounts along the way. Sorry not sorry for your cash, Revanites. His now. The only reason he’s only comfortable and not rich is because he gives his excess to his family and also upkeep of his droids, nanobots, and kolto stores is a steady drain, not to mention upkeep of himself, especially during Zakuul’s reign. His diet got expensive fast (enough that he began “cheating” with medicine to mess with his metabolism, which led to a lower energy level overall. More on that in the eating habits question I guess).

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

[LAUGHS IN IMPERIAL AGENT]

Okay, okay, detailed answer? He went from an average member of the Ascendancy to a soldier to a privately-employed spy in deep cover (where he worked as a doctor) to the Empire’s secret police to soldier again and now he just does whatever keeps everyone’s stomachs full or whatever Darth Marr (Or Ardun Kothe but shh) tells him to with no solid status to speak of except whatever Marr bestows on him. He is...strained, to put it lightly, and is looking to defect in full instead of in secret. Good thing the Alliance is on the horizon.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

For the majority of the story he lives in an apartment on Dromund Kaas with Oberon (and any adoptive family members he may have for RP purposes). Throughout Alliance content he lives out of the Odessen base with the rest. It had been set up as a sort of sanctuary, with sensors to protect them, droids scanning for surveillance devices, and of course Oberon’s loyal pets. Of course, that will quickly become unlivable, with legacy canon heading in the direction of Republic loyalist and Natirru seeing this as his chance. He’ll likely move in with Abric, then, be it on his ship or in the apartment he shares with Flow.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

Droid parts and upkeep, maintaining his ship, random gifts for his friends and family, medical supplies...that’s hardest to keep up, really. Good thing slicing is so lucrative.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

Primarily, he’s a spy, and while he came to appreciate plenty of things about it, it’s medicine that’s his true calling, and he puts being a medic over any other mission he may have. Essentially, he thrives on being needed, while also recognizing that the violence that would make him necessary should be prevented. Spywork enables him to (sometimes!) prevent this, fulfilling this need to be needed without harm to others.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

Droid salvage is his primary hands-on hobby, though he also will make small articles of clothing like gloves for his family. For a more passive hobby, he’s fascinated with history and archaeology, and enjoys following recent findings (but he certainly won’t turn down an expedition if offered). Considering how crucial it is to his lifestyle, I hesitate to add cooking to this, but coming up with new recipes is something of a hobby too.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Eating properly is extremely important to him. His genetics aren’t predisposed to being so large and retaining all his muscle is an exercise in maintaining proper nutrition in the right portions - which is a lot. As such, food is something he’s gotten very good at preparing, and he’s got everything in his kitchen sorted by nutritional value.

It was a smoothly run setup until Zakuul invaded and he was a priority target for being a known associate of the “Outlander” who murdered their emperor. He went into hiding and thus had to take shortcuts. Namely, he combined his knowledge of nutrition and medicine to force his metabolism down so he didn’t waste away, too comfortable in his own skin to give it up. This in turn messed with his energy levels - just the workout needed to keep his muscles sapped his strength. When Oberon and Flow rejoined him, Oberon used his own research into medicine to help him refine the formula. Conveniently enough, this would turn out to be a five-year endeavor. Gotta fill the time gap without being an active player somehow.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? Light gray is his favorite. I associate him with blue because I’m actually not that creative.
2. Smell? Cooking food - both his favorite and character association, in particular the baking protein biscuits that were a staple of his diet and that always seem to be on hand for guests.
3. Time of day? Sunset is his favorite. I associate night with him because spy (did I mention I’m not actually that creative?)
4. Season? Spring! Growth, renewal, nurturing, etc. Favorite and association.
5. Book? Don’t know in-universe stuff well enough to name a favorite, don’t really associate books with characters unless they’re deliberately designed that way
6. Music? Sleeping At Last’s Two is what I most associate with him.
7. Place? He’s particularly fond of Odessen, where his life will finally begin to shape up into what he’s wanted it to be. I have to say I associate him with the place, too.
8. Substance? What’s a healer without kolto?
9. Plant? You know those trees with the glowing flowers on Rishi? Those.
10. Animal? He doesn’t have a favorite animal but for an association I’d have to point to a big, solid pack animal that enables its surrounding community to survive. Bantha?
